Snowshoe trek Sardona - 3 days of pure world heritage
Engi
Once across the Sardona World Heritage Site - a snowshoe premiere. In three days we connect the Glarnerland with the Flumserberge!
Once across the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona - a winter premiere. On snowshoes, we connect the Glarnerland with the Flumser mountains in three days and experience unforgettable highlights. We move through a landscape in which the world-famous Glarus Thrust is impressively visible - a natural phenomenon of global significance.
We start in Engi in Glarnerland and climb up to Mülibachtal. After a few meters in altitude, we end the first day in a cosy ski hut: Pure mountain atmosphere. The second day is the heart of the tour: alpine, lonely and challenging. We cross the Wissmilen, the striking neighboring summit of the Spitzmeilen. In this fantastically beautiful mountain landscape, we experience pure winter tranquillity and sweeping views over the snow-covered peaks. Our destination is the Spitzmeilen hut, where a warm shower and a warm evening in the hut await us. On the third day, the route takes us across a fantastic high plateau. We make our own tracks in the wide open terrain before enjoying a stop for refreshments at Alp Fursch. We finally reach the Prodalp in the Flumserbergen on snowshoes - a worthy end to a unique crossing.
This three-day snowshoe hike is a first in winter: a connection between the Glarnerland and the Flumserberge through the middle of the Sardona World Heritage Site - full of vastness, silence, unforgettable moments and a view of the geological history of the Alps. Note: It goes without saying that we only stay in accessible zones and always respect all sensitive wildlife protection and recreation areas.
